MM2 Evo Weapons: Stages, XP and Whether to Buy

An Evo knife starts rare and grows into an ancient as you play, but it can never be traded. Buy one to enjoy it, not to make money.

Evo weapons are knives that evolve. You play rounds with the knife equipped, collect XP and the knife moves up a rarity tier, changing its shape along the way. There are four of them, and none can be traded.

The four Evo knives

Knife Added How you get it
Reaver Halloween 2021, the first Evo Game pass, no longer on sale
Icecrusher Christmas 2022 Game pass, no longer on sale
Gingerscythe December 2023, as a bundle Game pass
Synthwave July 2025, as a bundle Game pass

There are no Evo guns. Every Evo has to be bought with a game pass for its own knife, which is why they appear in bundles from time to time.

How the stages and XP work

An Evo starts at rare. A total of 864,000 XP takes it through all four tiers:

Stage XP needed
Rare Start
Legendary 36,000
Godly 216,000
Ancient 864,000

The numbers are totals, not extra steps. So after 36,000 XP the knife becomes legendary, and after 216,000 it becomes godly. You collect XP in rounds with the Evo equipped.

Once the knife is ancient you can equip any of its four forms. The XP bar keeps counting past the limit, but nothing extra happens.

Why Evo weapons cannot be traded

The game treats Evos, Nerf promos and trophies as the same untradable class. If you own at least one Evo, you will see a Trophies section on your player card, even when nothing shows up there.

So an Evo has no trade value, and the calculator and the table do not give you a number for it. Your inventory total will not grow when you level it up.

Do not mix them up with leaderboard versions

Some Evos have coloured leaderboard versions, such as Gold Gingerscythe or Blue Synthwave. They are separate unique items given for top places in an event, and they have nothing to do with the game pass. Do not confuse them with the knife you buy.

Should you buy an Evo

If you want a knife to use, an Evo is a nice choice. It grows with you, and the final form is ancient.

If you want to profit from it, skip it. You pay in Robux for something you cannot sell, trade or even give to a friend. Players on Reddit call Synthwave the weakest Evo, and there is a bug where its godly form causes flinging. I would look at a recent video of the knife in the game before I put Robux on it.

A bundle with an Evo is a different story. If you want its other items too, read how values work first, because the other items in the bundle lose value quickly.

Why Evos arrive as bundles

Two of the four Evos came out in recent bundles: the Gingerscythe EVO bundle in December 2023 and the Synthwave EVO bundle in July 2025. Reaver and Icecrusher were sold earlier and are off sale now. If you want an old one, you cannot buy it from the game, and since Evos are not tradable, you cannot get it from another player either.

Where Evo fits among rarities

Evo is a separate class that runs through tiers from rare to ancient. You can see all tiers in the rarity tiers guide.
