MM2 Boxes and Drop Chances

The two families of boxes

Shop boxes are the permanent ones: Knife Box 1 to 5, Gun Box 1 to 3, Mystery Box 1 and 2, and the Rainbow Box. A spin costs 1,000 Coins, 100 Diamonds or 1 Mystery Key. Older boxes such as the Common, Uncommon and Rare Box were removed in the Season 1 update, along with the Pet Box.

Event boxes appear for one event: Halloween, Christmas, Summer, Valentine's. Each event has one box with its own theme, and you pay with the event currency or a key. The 2026 Halloween Box costs 600 Candies or 1 Halloween Key. The 2026 Summer Box cost 120 Shells or 60 Diamonds.

Drop chances

Every box lists its odds. For the shop boxes the pattern is:

The 2026 Halloween and Summer boxes shift the middle: 70% common, 18% uncommon, 8% rare, 4% legendary, 0.2% godly and 0.004% chroma. In the 2026 Halloween Box, Embergun is the 4% legendary, Embersickle is the 0.2% godly and Chroma Embersickle is the 0.004% chroma.

At 0.2% the average is one godly per 500 boxes. At 0.004% it is one chroma per 25,000. Those are averages, and you can pull a godly in your first box or never in 500.

What boxes cannot give

Ancient weapons have never dropped from a box. They are tier rewards, game passes and crafts. Unique weapons are leaderboard trophies. If someone sells you "a box with a guaranteed ancient", it is a scam.

Are boxes worth it?

I treat them as a lottery. Most of what drops is a common you will never use, and the godly you hit may lose value in the first days. For a first godly the usual advice is to trade up instead; see godly values. If you do open boxes, take it with free coins and keys, not Robux.

Roblox now requires the odds of paid random items to be shown before purchase. MM2 started showing them in the September 2026 mini-update, and some players cannot open paid random items or trade them at all because of local laws. There is also a limit of one box per day that appeared in summer 2026, according to players.

Some past event boxes gave a godly that now sits near the top of the list: Traveler's Gun came from the 2023 Halloween Box, and Alienbeam from the 2025 one.
